Shrimp Boil

2 quarts (8 cups) water
1/2 can beer (6oz.) 
1/4 cup Seafood Seasoning
1 tablespoon salt
4 medium red potatoes quartered or 1lb. baby red potatoes halved
1 large onion cut into wedges
1 lb. lean smoked sausage, cut into 2-inch pieces
4 ears of corn, shucked and cut or broken in half
2 lbs. extra large shrimp, shells on (21-25 count), jumbo shrimp will also work


In a 12 quart stockpot combine water, beer, Seafood Seasoning and salt and bring to a boil over high heat. 

 Add potatoes, and onion, cook for 8 minutes. Add smoked sausage cook for 5 minutes. Add corn cook for 7 minutes.


Stir in shrimp, cook for 4 minutes or just until shrimp turns pink. 


Drain cooking liquid, pour contents of the pot into a large serving bowl or platter. 


This recipes serves 4, but can easily be doubled to serve 8.
